# Anthropic Platform

> Learn how to connect your Opal instance with Anthropic.

Opal's integration with Anthropic allows you to manage access to Anthropic Workspaces and users.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Looking to run Paladin on your own Anthropic account? This isn't the integration for that. Connect your key under **Configuration** > **Productivity Integrations** > **Anthropic API** instead. See [Model providers](https://docs.opal.dev/docs/paladin/model-providers.md).

## Supported resources

| Resource | Read | Grant and revoke access |
| - | - | - |
| Anthropic Workspaces | ✔️ | ✔️ |
| Anthropic Users | ✔️ | |

## Requirements

Before you begin, you must:

* Be an Opal Admin
* Be on version 1.1045.0, if you self-host Opal

## 1. Retrieve credentials in Anthropic

Anthropic connections accept a **Claude Console Admin Key**, a **Claude Enterprise API Key**, or both (at least one is required):

* **Admin Key (Claude Console)**: Created in [Console > Settings > Admin keys](https://console.anthropic.com/settings/admin-keys) (`sk-ant-admin...`). Opal uses this key to sync your Anthropic users, workspaces, and workspace access, and to grant or revoke workspace membership.
* **Enterprise API Key (Claude Enterprise)**: Created by your organization's Primary Owner in `claude.ai` under **Organization settings > API** with `read:analytics` and/or `read:compliance_activities` scopes. If your organization uses Claude Enterprise without a Claude Console organization, you can create the connection using only this key.

Save any generated keys, as you won't be able to retrieve them later.

## 2. Create Anthropic app in Opal

In Opal, go to **Inventory** > **+App** and select **Anthropic**. Name your Anthropic app, select an **App admin**, provide a description, and enter your **Admin Key**, **Enterprise API Key**, or both.

After you save the app, you can import workspaces from **...** > **Import items**.
